Breeder Guarantees: What You Can Expect When Buying a Xoloitzcuintli Puppy

September 8, 2026

Choosing a Xoloitzcuintli puppy is not only about finding the right dog. It is also about knowing what you can expect from the breeder.

At Sine Metu, we have our own principles and standards when raising and placing our puppies. We believe that a responsible breeder should be clear about both what they can guarantee and what no breeder can honestly promise.

What We Guarantee as a Breeder

When you reserve a Sine Metu Xoloitzcuintli puppy, you can expect:

Responsible and Official Breeding

  • The parents have the required breeding approval from UKU (FCI) specialists.
  • Puppies are officially registered according to UKU (FCI) breeding regulations.
  • Dogs with known health problems that would prevent them from being used responsibly in breeding are not included in our breeding program.
  • Our breeding dogs are tested for relevant genetic diseases.

Proper Puppy Care

Our puppies are raised with care, cleanliness and attention from their first days.

They receive:

  • scheduled vaccinations according to the appropriate veterinary calendar;
  • regular parasite prevention and veterinary care;
  • appropriate daily care;
  • early socialization and exposure to everyday life as much as possible.

Our goal is not simply to raise healthy puppies, but to give them a good foundation for life with their future families.

Support After the Puppy Goes Home

Our responsibility does not end when a puppy leaves our home.

I remain available to the owners of my puppies and am happy to help with questions about:

  • feeding and everyday care;
  • skin and hygiene;
  • socialization and development;
  • transportation;
  • adapting to a new home;
  • other practical questions that may arise as the puppy grows.

I can also help arrange puppy transportation within the country or internationally when possible.

A Lifetime Responsibility

If circumstances ever change and an owner can no longer keep a Sine Metu puppy, I will take the dog back in accordance with the purchase agreement.

I believe that responsible breeding also means taking responsibility for the dogs we have brought into the world.

What No Responsible Breeder Can Guarantee

There are also things I will not promise simply because they cannot honestly be guaranteed.

A Puppy Will Not Leave Before 15 Weeks

I will not send a puppy to a new home before 15 weeks of age.

I also do not allow prospective owners to meet their reserved puppy in person before approximately 12 weeks, while the puppy is completing the necessary vaccination period and developing immunity.

This is part of our approach to protecting young puppies during an important stage of development.

No Guaranteed Lifetime Show Career

A puppy may have excellent pedigree, structure and potential, but no breeder can guarantee a lifetime show career.

A young puppy develops as it grows. Its final qualities, adult structure and show prospects cannot be predicted with absolute certainty at an early age.

No Guarantee Against Every Future Disease

A breeder can responsibly monitor health, test breeding dogs and provide appropriate veterinary care. However, no breeder can guarantee that a dog will never develop a disease in the future.

Some conditions may appear later in life and may depend on factors that cannot be predicted at the time a puppy is transferred.

For this reason, our health responsibilities and any applicable guarantees are clearly defined in the purchase agreement.

No Guarantee of a “Perfect” Personality

Every puppy is an individual.

Genetics, early development, environment, training and the owner's approach all influence the adult dog.

I cannot guarantee that a puppy will behave exactly as every owner imagines.

In particular, I cannot promise completely calm adult behaviour at a young age. A puppy's development continues for a long time, and the way the owners raise, train and socialize their dog plays an important role.

Health or Developmental Concerns

If a developmental or health concern becomes apparent during a puppy's growth and it is something that should be communicated to the owner, I will inform the owner who reserved the puppy.

Transparency is important to us. We would rather have an honest conversation about a concern than make promises that no breeder can realistically keep.

Everything Is Included in the Purchase Agreement

All important responsibilities, guarantees, limitations and potential risks are discussed and described in the purchase agreement signed by both parties when the puppy is transferred.

This protects both the puppy and the new owner and makes our responsibilities clear from the beginning.

Responsible Breeding Means Honesty

For me, a breeder's guarantee is not a promise that a puppy's entire future can be controlled.

It is a commitment to responsible breeding, proper puppy care, transparency and support throughout the dog's life.

A good breeder should be honest not only about what they can provide, but also about what nobody can guarantee.

When you choose a Xoloitzcuintli puppy from Sine Metu, you are not only choosing a puppy — you are choosing a breeder who remains available to you after your puppy comes home.
